Biography

Tom Moran joined Iona as Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Ticket Operations in January of 2014. He oversees marketing efforts, corporate sponsorships, and ticket operations for the Gaels. Since his arrival, Iona has seen record level increases in both sponsorship and ticket revenues.

Moran came to Iona after a successful tenure with the digital marketing firm Experian Marketing Services. With EMS, Tom was responsible for leading digital marketing and advertising campaigns for elite brands such as AT&T, Brown Shoe, Famous Footwear, Muscular Dystrophy Association, and others. He was recognized by the company for excellence in leadership, client service, and process enhancements by being promoted twice in less than three years, and received the Experian Marketing Forward Award in 2012.

Additionally, Tom has held public relations and ticket operations roles with Barclays Center and the New York Mets. In 2013, Moran was part of the operations staff for the MLB All Star Week at Citi Field. He continues to serve on the Barclays Center Media Communications staff during several events.

A 2010 Magna Cum Laude graduate of Manhattan College where he played four years of baseball and was head of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), Tom holds the school’s record for career pitching appearances. He earned an MBA and Advanced Certificate in Sports and Entertainment Business from the Iona College Hagan School of Business in 2015. A native of Farmington, CT, Moran resides in Riverdale, NY.
