Vin Parise

Vin Parise enters his fourth season as assistant men's basketball coach at Iona. He returned to his alma mater after spending three seasons as a member of the basketball staff at Rutgers. He will be working closely with Iona’s guards game preparation.

In 2005-06 - his second season on the staff -  the Gaels earned their conference record seventh MAAC Championship and advanced to the NCAA Championship First Round.  Iona took on eventual Final Four participant LSU in Jacksonville, FL.

As the Coordinator for Basketball Operations with the Scarlet Knights, Parise served as video coordinator, was responsible for game-tape breakdown, film exchange as well as other administrative duties.

During his three-year stint at Rutgers, the Scarlet Knights competed in the 2002 National Invitation Tournament, beat six teams ranked in the AP Top 25, and most recently, finished as the runner-up in the 2004 NIT. He also worked extensively with the Gary Waters Basketball Camp. Prior to his time at Rutgers, Parise spent one year on the coaching staff at Fairleigh Dickinson under head coach Tom Green.

Getting his start in coaching with the Gaels, Parise served as a student assistant during Iona’s 1997 NIT and 1998 NCAA Tournament teams. In that role, Parise assisted the coaching staff, supervised five student managers, worked closely with the director of basketball operations and assisted in game preparation and video scouting. He has coached at several summer camps around the Northeast including the Eastern Invitational Basketball Clinic and the Pocono Invitational.

Parise and his wife Amy were married on Sept. 1, 2007. A native of Dutchess County, NY, Parise resides in New Rochelle, NY.
