Edison, NJ- The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced its 2002-03 New York Lottery Academic Honor Roll this afternoon. Iona College had 93 student athletes named to the list, the second highest total of all MAAC full-time and associate member schools.
To be eligible for the New York Lottery MAAC Academic Honor Roll, an athlete must hold a grade point average of 3.20 or higher on a 4.0 scale and be in his or her second year of athletic eligibility.
Iona had eighteen different athletic teams represented on the list. The football team topped the men's teams with 18 members while women's soccer and women's swimming and diving teams each produced nine scholar athletes.
