South Orange, NJ - The Iona College volleyball team dropped their match to Seton Hall, falling to the Pirates in three straight games (30-20, 30-24, 30-15). The squad was unable to gain any significant advantages throughout the evening, moving to 2-6 on the season.
Seton Hall led game one with 18 kills and an attack percentage of .317 to Iona's 12 kills and .125 percentage. The Gaels managed to keep game two close early on, tying the score at eight before falling behind for the remainder. Scoring first in game three would be the only edge the team could muster in the match. The Pirates held a 14-7 kill advantage in the third game.
Megan Dailey led the Gaels both offensively and defensively with eight kills and 12 digs. Katie Brilla tied Dailey with eight kills, and Alyssa Morales was second on the team in digs with 11. Beth Holly, last season's MAAC co-setter of the year, put up 28 of Iona's 29 total set assists.
The Gaels have a week off before facing Saint Peter's next Wednesday.
