JERSEY CITY, NJ- The Iona College volleyball team dropped a three-set decision to Saint Peter's on the road in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action. Sophomore Allison Nieters broke a six-year old school record for digs with 13 in the contest.
With her final dig of the match, Nieters moved ahead of Kathy Kunath's 1,360 digs and now stands alone as the school record holder, less than two years into her tenure in New Rochelle. Earlier this season she became the fastest player in school history to record 1,000 digs.
Junior Sarah Wiener posted a team-high 11 kills and completed her fourth double-double of the season. The Gaels recorded nine team blocks led by sophomore Colleen Genett and rookie Rachelle Wilson's four assisted stuffs.
