Molly O'Shea combined for 25 of the Gaels' 47 kills in the win.
Genett's 13 kills and .429 hitting percentage led the Maroon & Gold. Fellow middle blocker O'Shea posted 12 kills while hitting .364. Outside hitters
Sarah Wiener and
Rachel Whitten each had nine kills. Setters
Alyssa Erickson and
Nicole Tamburri split time at the position and combined for 35 assists.
Defensively, the Gaels posted 10 or more digs. Junior libero
Allison Nieters average 9.00 per set with 27. Rookie RS
Theresa Harvey recorded 17 and Whitten had 10 in the victory.
Nieters finished the match with 1,990 career digs and is 10 shy of becoming the second player in the history of the MAAC to reach the 2,000 plateau. Canisius' graduate Jess Stackhouse holds the conference record with 2,095 digs. Nieters needs 210 to enter the Top 20 list all-time in the NCAA.
The Gaels continue MAAC action on the road tomorrow when they take on Marist at the McCann Center tomorrow afternoon.
