RIVERDALE, NY - The Iona College volleyball team picked up its fourth straight win with a three set victory over Manhattan at Draddy Gymnasium in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play.  Junior libero Allison Nieters posted 17 digs and become the second player in MAAC history to record 2,000 career digs.

Senior OH Sarah Wiener broke out for 16 kills and five aces in the victory.  She hit .368 with two errors in 48 attempts while also recording five digs and a block (21.5 points).  Sophomore MB Molly O'Shea posted a .556 hitting percentage with 11 kills and one error on 18 attempts.

In addition to Nieters' 17 digs, sophomore S Nicole Tamburri recorded 10 while completing her team-leading sixth double-double of the year with 37 assists.  Junior MB Collen Genett led the way with six blocks.

Nieters now stands with 2,011 career digs and is 84 shy of the conference record held by Canisius graduate Jess Stackhouse.  With 189 addition digs, she will enter the Top 25 list in the NCAA all-time.

The Gaels look to continue their hot streak tomorrow afternoon when they return to the Hynes Center against Rider for a 3:00 pm first serve.
