PRINCETON, NJ - The Iona College men's water polo team fell to 0-3 after two days of the Princeton Invitational after falling to UCLA 20-6 Saturday evening.
Against the Bruins, the Gaels were led by senior Joe Przekota's four goals and two kickouts drawn. Junior Seth Tasman added one goal and sophomore Hunter Carrier was responsible for the Gaels' other tally. Junior Eric Konzem had nine saves in net for Iona.
Earlier in the day, the Gaels were defeated by Johns Hopkins 13-8. Prezekota was once against the Gaels' catalyst, with four goals and an assist. Tasman had a goal and an assist while Ryan Oldendorf, Andrew Velasquez and Matt Joslyn also scored for the Maroon & Gold. Joslyn also added two goals and two kickouts drawn. Junior Emre Erdogan had two assists and four steals. Konzem recorded six saves in net.
On Friday, the Gaels battled Brown in a high scoring affair but fell by a score of 20-14. Przekota led the goals with eight goals, two steals and two kickouts drawn. Tasman had two goals while freshman Kristian Bocage added his first two collegiate goals as well. Erdogan and Oldendorf supplied the Gaels' other tallies. Konzem had 10 saves for the Gaels.
Iona finishes up its trip to Princeton with a matchup with Bucknell Sunday morning. Game time is scheduled for 8:00 am.
