BUFFALO, NY - The Iona College volleyball team dropped a three-set decision to Canisius in their Metro Atlantic Athlteic Conference opener at the Koessler Center.   The Gaels dropped the match with set scores of 25-19, 25-22, 25-12.

Senior OH Sarah Wiener led the way with nine kills.  Junior Allison Nieters saw action in the front row and posted a career-best seven kills.  Sophomore MB Molly O'Shea and junior OH Rachel Whitten each had five kills in the loss.   Junior libero Laura Fojanesi had 10 digs while sophomore setter Nicole Tamburri posted 21 assists.

The Gaels complete the Western NY portion of their schedule tomorrow afternoon when they take on Niagara.
