POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - The Iona College volleyball team endured a five-set win over Marist in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at the McCann Center. Playing in its third straight match on the road with a deciding set, the Gaels found the victory that eluded them in its previous two contests.
After winning the first set 25-20, Iona dropped the next two 25-14 and 25-12. The squad regrouped for a 25-16 win in the fourth and on its fourth match-point of the set, finally put the Red Foxes away 20-18. The Maroon & Gold earned an all-important season series split with Marist.

Colleen Genett posted 14 kills and recorded a .542 hitting percentage to lead the Gaels. She added three assisted blocks for a team-best 15.5 points. Genett's hitting percentage was .003 shy of her career-high set just three weeks ago at Canisius. Sophomore OH
Theresa Harvey added 10 kills and missed a second-straight double-double my just one dig with nine. Senior MB
Rachel Whitten added nine kills. With four assisted blocks she recorded 12.0 points in the win. Rookies

Kelsey Hess combined for 15 kills from their left and right-side positions in the front row.
The Gaels currently stand in fourth place with their 8-4 conference record. The team stands a game behind Fairfield in second place and is tied in the loss column with third-place Canisius, who comes to New Rochelle next Satuday (Oct. 30). Iona also hosts first-place Niagara on Sunday in a Halloween tilt at the Hynes Center. Both matches are slated to begin at 2:00 pm.
