BALTIMORE, MD - The Iona College women's swimming and diving team wrapped up competition at the quad-team H2ounds Invitational Saturday afternoon at Mangione Pool at Loyola University Maryland. The Gaels were able to outscore Saint Peter's 286-67 but fell to Marist 257-113 and Loyola 209-159.
Doughty took seventh in the first individual event of the day, the 400 yd IM, with a time of 4:49.62. Williams was 11th with a time of 4:59.54.
In the 100 yd fly, Harvey took fifth with a time of 1:00.24.
Victoria Ponzo was eighth in the event, touching the wall in 1:01.64. Cody was 11th with a time of 1:02.13.
Mone took second for the Gaels in the 200 yd freestyle with a time of 1:54.07. Doughty was sixth with a time of 2:00.48.
Caitlin McGregor was 12th with a time of 2:03.93.
Johnson was sixth in the 100 yd backstroke with a time of 1:00.69.
Maria Skeivys was right behind in seventh, touching the wall in 1:01.56.
Manser picked up the first win of the day for the Gaels with a first place finish in the 100 yd breaststroke, finishing with a time of 1:05.58. Dodenhoff was third with a time of 1:08.34.
Sarah Walker was fifth with a time of 1:09.26.
Kara Nowakowski took third for the Gaels in the 1650 yd freestyle with a time of 17:59.32. Ponzo was sixth in the event with a time of 18:20.24. Larkin was 11th with a time of 18:59.18 while Williams was 13th with a time of 19:03.65.
In the 200 yd medley relay, the relay of Skeivys, Manser, Cody and Dodenhoff took third with a time of 1:50.99. the relay of Johnson, Walker,
Sophia Hyokyvaara and Doughty were right behind in fourth with a time of 1:52.44.
In the 200 yd backstroke, Skeivys was seventh with a time of 2:14.18. Johnson was right behind in eighth with a time of 2:14.32.
Harvey picked up the second win of the day with a time of 52.88. Mone was fourth with a time of 53.33. Dodenhoff was seventh with a time of 54.39.
Walker was third in the 200 yd breaststroke with a time of 2:30.73. Hyokyvaara was sixth with a time of 2:32.34 while
Zuzanna Michalak was eighth with a time of 2:33.18 and Manser was ninth with a time of 2:33.20.
In the 200 yd butterfly, Cody took fifth with a time of 2:13.42. Ponzo was right in sixth with a time of 2:13.76. Nowakowski was ninth with a time of 2:16.33.
The relay of Harvey, Doughty, Dodenhoff and Mone took second in the final event of the day, the 400 yd freestyle relay with a time of 3:37.22. The team of Williams, McGregor, Cody and Manser was seventh with a time of 3:52.32.
The Gaels take a break from competition until Jan. 18, when they host Saint Peter's at the Hynes Center. Prior to that, the Gaels will travel to San Juan, Puerto Rico for their annual Intersession Training Trip.
