HEMPSTEAD, NY - The Iona College volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Hofstra this evening at the Hofstra Physical Fitness Center.   The Pride took the match with set scores 26-24, 25-15 and 25-21.  Iona fell to 2-2 on the season

Senior MB Colleen Genett led Iona with 12 kills.  She hit .579 on 19 attempts with just one error.  Sophomore OH Theresa Harvey added nine kills and five digs and rookie OH Alicja Pawelec had six kills in the loss.

Senior S Alyssa Erickson recorded 30 assists while senior libero Allison Nieters and sophomore DS Nicole Tamburri each had eight digs.

The Gaels continue action on the road with three matches at the Bucknell Invitational this weekend.   Iona takes on Providence on Friday (Sep. 3) before completing action vs. Eastern Michigan and host Bucknell on Saturday (Sep. 4)
