LEWISBURG, PA- The Iona College volleyball team picked up a four-set win over Providence in its first match at the Bucknell Invitational this afternoon. Rookie OH
Alicja Pawelec set a career-high with 18 kills while registering four total blocks for a team best 21 points in the win. The Gaels ran their season record to 3-2.
The Gaels took the first two sets with scores of 25-17 and 25-23 before falling in the third 25-21. The Maroon & Gold did not disappoint in the final frame, leading wire-to-wire in the 25-13 set win.
Pawelec hit .471 with 34 attempts and just two errors. She had two solo and assisted blocks a piece to also set a season high. Senior MBs

Alyssa Erickson had her third double-double in the last four matches with 41 assists and 12 digs. She had two of Iona's eight service aces.

Allison Nieters had a season-high 23 digs while Harvey added 11 in the win. The Gaels recorded a season-best nine team blocks. In addition to Pawelec's four, Erickson, Genett and Whitten each had three rejections.
Iona continues action at Bucknell with back-to-back matches against Eastern Michigan and the host Bison beginning at 10:00 am.
