NIAGARA UNIV., NY - The Iona College volleyball team suffered a five-set defeat at MAAC-leading Niagara at the Gallagher Center. After taking a 2-1 lead in the match, the Gaels dropped the final two sets to the unbeaten Purple Eagles.
Senior setter
Nicole Tamburri posted her second double-double of the year with 41 assists and 15 digs. She also had six blocks in the match.
Niagara's Ellen Senf had 25 kills and hit .413 while setter Nicole Bayer had 56 assists and libero Sam Morgan recorded 20 digs.
Iona is back in action on Tuesday night when they host Siena at the Hynes Center.
