NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The Iona College volleyball team made quick work of Saint Peter's in a three-set win at in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at the Hynes Center. The Gaels improved to 5-2 in conference play with their third straight win.
The Maroon & Gold's biggest deficit came at 4-2 in the second set, which was erased for good after tallying four of the next five points. Iona won the match 25-15, 25-13, and 25-19.
Rookie MH
Catrina Warren led the way with 13 kills. She hit .476 in three sets recording four blocks, three digs and an ace. Sophomore OH
Alicja Pawelec played just two sets and recorded nine kills. She posted a career-best .667 hitting percentage with just one error in 12 attempts. Senior MH
Molly O'Shea was 6-for-8 on attack attempts with a .750 hitting percentage. Sophomore OH Madisyn Spece posted seven kills in the win. Rookie OH
Taylor Cembalisty came on in the third set and recorded five kills with an error on nine attempts (.444 hitting percentage).

Nicole Tamburri and freshman
Caris Myles split time at setter. Tamburri earned the start and had 11 assists in set one. Myles closed the match with 25 assists, five digs, two kills and an ace.

Theresa Harvey posted 19 digs while rookie DS/OH
Katie Marabella had seven in the win. They were perfect on a combined 21 serve receptions.
Saint Peter's junior Kassi Wirth led the way with 10 kills and six blocks. Her sister Lexandra Wirth had five blocks. Setter Anna Molokotina fell just shy of a double-double with 17 assists and a team-high nine digs.
Iona takes on Manhattan tomorrow at the Hynes Center at 4:00 pm. The Gaels and Jaspers are tied in the loss column with two a piece heading into the matchup. The Maroon & Gold holds a half-game lead in third place with one more victory.
