Alicja Pawelec had 14 to lead the Gaels offensively in their 25-7, 25-16, 25-7 win.
Iona never looked back in the first set, taking leads of 7-0, 16-4 and 20-5 en route to the 25-7 first set win. In set two, the Maroon & Gold pulled away with an 8-2 run after Saint Peter's closed to within two points at 12-10. An early 10-0 run sparked the 25-7 third set win.
Warren posted 11 kills and four blocks in the win while hitting .500 (11-2-18). Pawelec had 13 kills and an ace along with her .417 hitting percentage. Rookies
Katie Marabella and
Taylor Cembalisty added four kills apiece.
Setters
Nicole Tamburri and
Caris Myles split time at the position. Tamburri recorded 20 assists in the first two sets for the Gaels. The rookie Myles was involved in all 19 of Iona's offensive points in the third set, with 14 assists, four aces and a kill. She also had a block defensively.

Theresa Harvey had 21 digs while sophomore DS
Ellen Carberry posted 10. Marabella added seven, seeing action in both the front and back row in the victory.
With the win and losses by Manhattan and Marist, the Gaels have matched their two opponents in the loss column and hold a half game lead for the final postseason spot in fourth place. Iona is also a half game behind Siena, who upset MAAC-leading Niagara on the road on Saturday.
The Gaels take on Manhattan on the road on Saturday in an important MAAC contest with tremendous postseason implications.
