CONWAY, SC - The Iona College volleyball team completed action in South Carolina with a four-set win over host Coastal Carolina. The Gaels rebounded from a set one loss in their 20-25, 25-17, 25-11, 32-30 match win.
Sophomore RS
Kelsey Hess posted 17 kills on 28 attempts with just four errors, a career-best .464 hitting percentage. Her classmate, OH
Alicja Pawelec had 12 kills from the left side, adding three aces, three blocks and missing a double-double by a single-dig with nine.
Rookie
Katie Marabella made her season-debut in the front row and had her first collegiate double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs. She also posted two aces and a block. Freshman S
Caris Myles posted 44 assists and seven digs while MB
Catrina Warren had nine kills and hit .368 in the win.
The Gaels completed non-conference play with a 3-5 record. The squad opens its MAAC season next weekend at the Hynes Center when they host Niagara (Sep. 17) and Canisius (Sep. 18).
