STONY BROOK, NY - The Iona College volleyball team opened up the 2011 Holiday Inn Express Stony Brook Invitational with a four set loss to Rhode Island. The Gaels (1-2) dropped the match with set scores 27-29, 21-25, 25-21, 17-25.

Alicja Pawelec led the Maroon & Gold offensively for the third straight match, recording her second double-double with 14 kills and 11 digs. She added three blocks in the loss. Sophomore OH

Catrina Warren had her first double-digit kill effort with 10 kills and a team best five blocks. Warren hit .600 of the match with just one error in 15 attempts.

Katie Marabella added seven in the loss.
The Rams' Kayla Wilson led four performers with 10 or more kills with a match high 20. She completed a double-double with 19 digs for the victors.
