Alicja Pawelec posted a match-high 14 kills in leading the Iona College volleyball team past Siena in three sets at the Alumni Rec Center. The Gaels earned a win on Siena's home floor for the first time since 2004 and sweep since 2002.

Catrina Warren that made the score 2-1. Trailing by as many as six points in the middle of the frame, Siena cut the margin to 18-15 but could not get any closer in the 25-18 defeat.
With six ties and three lead changes, set three proved to be the toughest for the Gaels in a 25-19 set win. Iona pulled away with the score 17-17 on five straight points on Warren's serve, a stretch that included three Pawelec kills.
As a team, the Gaels hit .284 with just eight attack errors in the three sets. Pawelec had 14 kills on 37 attempts with four errors hitting .270. She completed a double-double with 10 digs. Sophomore OH
Madisyn Spence posted nine kills (.276). Warren and sophomore RS
Kelsey Hess combined to hit .461 in the win. Warren had seven kills, six digs, three blocks and three aces.
Senior S
Nicole Tamburri posted 29 assists and nine digs with two blocks. Harvey posted 17 digs and was perfect on 18 service receptions.
Siena's Taylor Akana posted 13 kills and nine digs to lead the home team. Libero Lesli Akeo had 18 digs while setter Sarah Siverston had 34 assists in the loss.
Iona snapped a six-game slide vs. Siena at the ARC.
The Gaels continue MAAC action on the road tomorrow afternoon when they take on Marist at 2:00 pm at the McCann Center.
