Alicja Pawelec was named to the All-Tourney team for the second straight weekend.
The Gaels dropped the opener to Stony Brook, 22-25, 21-25, 25-8, 16-25. For the second time this season, the Maroon & Gold out hit, out blocked and out pointed their opponent in a loss.
Pawelec hit .310 with 15 kills in the loss. Sophomore OH
Madisyn Spence posted 11 kills and a .350 hitting percentage while rookie MB
Catrina Warren had eight kills and a .353 hitting percentage. Her five blocks also led the way.
Defensively, Harvey posted 17 digs while rookie S
Caris Myles had 36 assists.
In the night cap, Iona topped Kent State, 25-19, 25-15, 21-25, 25-21. Iona's steady passing game helped lead to a .340 team hitting percentage for the contest.

Kelsey Hess exploded for a career-best 18 kills on 35 attempts with just four errors (.400). Spence also set a career-high with 17 kills and a .455 hitting percentage. Pawelec posted her third double-double of the year with 12 kills and 12 digs. Warren hit .500 with six kills and posted two blocks in the win.
Myles recorded the third highest single-match assist total over the last decade for the Maroon & Gold with 60 helpers. Gael graduate Beth Holly was the last to hit the mark at Texas A&M Corpus Christi on Oct. 1, 2005. Myles just missed a double-double with nine digs. Harvey once again led Iona defensively with 20 digs.
