JERSEY, CITY - The Iona College women's swimming and diving picked up a
crucial MAAC meet win Tuesday evening with a 128.5-99.5 win over Saint Peter's at
the Yanitelli Center.
The lone Iona represent in the 1000 yard freestyle, junior
Kara Nowakowski, took
second in the event with a time of 10:59.83.
In the 200 yard freestyle, Skeivys took third in the event with a time of 2:03.33.
Freshman
Olivia Kroll
was fourth with a time of 2:05.82 and senior
Caitlin McGregor was fifth
with a time of 2:07.53.
The Maroon & Gold secured the top two spots in the 50 yard freestyle, as
Harvey picked up first with a time of 25.62 and Mone was second with a time of
25.80. Sophomore
Kerri-Anne
Dodenhoff tied for third with a time of 26.36 and Jaile was seventh in
the event with a time of 29.70.
In the 200 yard IM, Manser was first in the event with a time of 2:13.94.
Sophomore
Brigitte
Doughty was fourth with a time of 2:21.94 and Michalak was fifth with
a time of 2:29.41.
In the 200 yard fly, Nowakowski, once again the only Iona swimmer in the
event, was second with a time of 2:18.34.
Harvey and Mone once again finished one-two in their next event, the 100 yard
freestyle. Harvey finished with a time of 54.90 while Mone touched the wall in 55.44.
Dodenhoff was fourth with a time of 57.53.
In the 200 yard backstroke, Kroll took second with a time of 2:16.11 and
Skeivys was just behind in third with a time of 2:16.51.
In the 500 yard freestyle, Nowakowski was second with a time of 5:27.02 and
McGregor took third with a time of 5:37.42. Jaile rounded out the field in fifth with a
time of 6:13.73.
Manser picked up her second win of the day with a first place finish in the 200
yard breaststroke, touching the wall in 2:30.33. Hyokyvaara was fifth with a time of
2:39.01 and Michalak was sixth with a time of 2:44.83.
In the 200 yard freestyle relay, the team of Dodenhoff, Kroll, Doughty and
McGregor took first with a time of 1:46.11.
In one meter diving, junior
Briana
Gongloff was first with 62.60 points and sophomore
Melanie
Dilascio was second with 47.74 points. Gongloff once again took first
in the three-meter event, picking up 58.95 points. Dilascio was second with 46.80
points.
Iona returns to the pool Saturday when they travel to Fairfield.
