RIVERDALE, NY - The Iona College volleyball dropped a five set decision at Manhattan. After taking a 2-0 lead, the Gaels lost the final three sets in the heartbreaking loss. Set scorers were 26-24, 25-20, 17-25, 19-25, 9-15.

Junior OH Alicja Pawelec posted her team-best ninth double-double of the season with 18 kills and 18 digs. The dig total was one shy of a career-high set earlier this month vs. Marist. Sophomore RS Taylor Cembalisty posted 15 kills and four blocks. Freshman McKenzie Humann had nine kills and a season-best eight blocks. Junior OH Madisyn Spence recorded nine kills and 21 digs, her second 20+ dig effort of the season. She was also perfect on 35 service receptions. Senior RS Molly O'Shea added seven kills.

Freshman Natalie Ziskin and sophomore Caris Myles split time at the setter position. Ziskin had 33 assists and Myles posted 21 while each had six digs.

Senior libero Theresa Harvey had a team-high 23 digs in the loss.

Manhattan's Ellie Wiekamp led all performers with 20 kills. Libero Kelsey Huntoon posted 26 digs and setter Jamie Collareta had 49 assists and 15 digs for the hosts.

Iona is back in action at Saint Peter's on Sunday.
