Women's Swimming Completes NECI

CHESTNUT HILL, MA - The Iona College women's swimming squads completed the New England Catholic Invite with dual meets on Saturday.

The Gaels finished 3-4 with victories over Le Moyne (192-123), Regis (224-67) and Holy Cross (205-121).

Freshman Cassidy O'Connell took fourth in the 400-IM, completing the race in 4:51.67.

Junior Maria Skeivys placed fourth in the 100-Backstroke, touching the pad at 1:02.12. Classmate Kerri-Anne Dodenhoff placed first in the 100-Breastroke at 1:08.41.

Senior Victoria Ponzo finished sixth in the 100-Butterfly at 1:03.15. In the women's 50-Free, freshman Melissa Dorsch and Dodenhoff tied for seventh at 25.47. Freshman Mary Ellen Mangione took third in the 200-Breaststoke at 2:32.39.

The Gaels will make head back to New Rochelle for a meet with St. Francis (NY), Wagner and Sacred Heart on Saturday.
