FAIRFIELD, CT - The Iona College volleyball team dropped a heartbreaking five set decision to Fairfield in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play at Alumni Hall. The Gaels lost the match with set scores 29-27, 26-24, 21-25, 21-25, 5-15.

Catrina Warren led the Gaels with 19 kills and a .390 hitting percentage. She posted seven digs and a block. Junior OH
Alicja Pawelec recorded a double-double with 14 kills and 19 digs, matching her career-high in the defensive statistic. Senior RS
Molly O'Shea had nine kills while junior OH
Madisyn Spence added seven kills and 12 digs.
Fairfield was led by Briana Dixion's 18 kills and 17 digs. Four Stags posted 10 or more kills and five posted 10 or more digs led by libero Kara Reis' 34. Setter Rachel Romansky had 45 assists in the win.
The Gaels won the first two sets by two points each before falling in the last three and in the match.
Iona is back in action Thursday night (Nov. 1) when they host Rider at the Hynes Center.
