BALTIMORE, MD - The Iona college women's swimming squad finished 1-2 at the Loyola Invitational over the weekend, falling to Loyola (213.5- 155.5) and Marist (279-88) and defeated Saint Peter's (246-107).
Junior
Kerri-Anne Dodenhoff won the 100 Breaststroke in 1:05.52. She also took third in the 50-Free at 24.39 and fourth in the 100-free at 42.94.
Senior
Victoria Ponzo finished sixth in the 500-free, completing the race in 5:16.46. She also finished sixth in the 100-Fly and fourth in the 200-Fly in 2:11.91. Freshman
Leigh Musselman finished fourth in the 200-IM behind classmate
Mary Ellen Mangione at 2:12.33.
Mangione took first in the 200 Breaststroke finishing 2:25.48.
In the 200-Free relay, the Gaels placed second at 1:38.31. Dodenhoff and Musselman were joined by senior
Theresa Harvey and freshman
Melissa Dorsch. The team also placed second in the 200-Medley relay in 1:49.79. The foursome consisted of Musselman, Ponzo, Dodenhoff and Dorsch. Iona's 400-Free relay took second also with Dodenhoff, Harvey, Musselman and Dorsch finished in 3:37.36.
