NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The Iona College volleyball team cruised to a three-set win over Saint Peter's in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play at the Hynes Center. The Gaels improved to 2-0 in the MAAC after the 25-20, 25-17, 25-12 win.
The Maroon & Gold used a balanced offensive and a solid defensive attack in the win. As a team, Iona posted 51 kills and a .393 hitting percentage. Four performers had double-digit kill totals led by sophomore
Catrina Warren's 12. Warren hit .474 and added seven digs and two aces in the win. Junior
Madisyn Spence was one of two Gaels with a double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs. She hit .458. Sophomore
Taylor Cembalisty posted a .409 hitting percentage with 11 kills while junior
Alicja Pawelec netted 10 kills. Sophomore
Katie Marabella posted an Iona season-best five aces in the contest.

Caris Myles had a second straight stellar effort with her fourth double-double of the year. She recorded 42 assists and 13 digs in the win. For the two match weekend, Myles averaged more than 14 assists per game.
Defensively senior libero
Theresa Harvey recorded 14 digs and had one reception error on 10 attempts.
Saint Peter's was led by Lauren Behrens 11 kills, Jenny Pliska's 12 digs and setter Kristina Baehr's 23 assists.
The Gaels tune up for MAAC play next weekend with a non-conference tilt at the Big East's St. John's on Tuesday evening.
