BRONX, NY - The Iona College men's water polo team dropped a close 11-10 decision to Fordham Tuesday evening at CWPA Northern Division action held at the Messmore Aquatic Center.

The Rams got out to a 4-3 lead after the first quarter, before each squad found the net three times in the second, giving Fordham a 7-6 lead at half. In the third, Fordham pulled away with four goals while holding the Gaels to just one. Facing an 11-7 deficit after three, the Gaels found to within one in the final period but could not get closer.

Iona was led by two goals apiece from junior Kyle Elmore and sophomore Zach Presto. Seniors Matthew Stelnicki, Lee Stiles and Sean Davis, and juniors James Ramaley, Jake Lloyd and Ian Thompson each had one goal apiece.

Iona heads to California for a six-game west coast swing, beginning Thursday at Cal Baptist.
