Box Score NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The Iona College volleyball team earned a three-set win over Saint Peter's in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play. The Gaels (8-12, 6-4 MAAC) improved to two games over .500 in league play for the first time this season and remained unbeaten at the Hynes Center (5-0).
Junior OH Catrina Warren recorded her team-leading 11th double-double of the season with 11 kills and 11 digs. She hit .476 with just one error on 21 attempts. Warren also added three blocks.
Junior MB Shannon Ward hit .500 with eight kills on 14 attempts and had two blocks. Senior OH Alicja Pawelec posted seven kills, five digs and five blocks. Sophomore MH McKenzie Humann posted had nine blocks in the win, tying a school record in a three-set match and the highest total in the 25-point era.
Sophomore setter Natalie Ziskin had 32 assists and five digs while senior libero Madisyn Spence had a team-best 13 digs in the win.
Saint Peter's was led by nine kills from Lauren Behrens and eight from Stephanie Mills. Setters Kirstina Baehr and Kaitlyn Sitton combined for 40 assists and libero Jenny Pliska had 18 digs for the Peacocks.
The Gaels are continue a four-game home stand with a pivotal matchup with Marist Saturday (10/26) at the Hynes Center.
