Box Score LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ - The Iona College volleyball team extended its winning streak to five matches with a three-set sweep at Rider in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play. The Gaels (11-12, 9-4 MAAC) topped the Broncs 25-14, 25-23, 25-14 at Alumni Gym.
Senior OH Alicja Pawelec led the Way with 11 kills and a .312 hitting percentage. She added eight digs, three aces and a block. Sophomore MH McKenzie Humann had nine kills and three blocks and junior OH Catrina Warren had seven kills and nine digs.
Junior RS Taylor Cembalisty led the Gaels defensively with 18 digs. Senior libero Madisyn Spence posted 15 digs in the win. Sophomore setter Natalie Ziskin had a double-double with 28 assists and 11 digs.
Rider was led by Ryan Ackerman's seven kills, and Ashlee Amatulli's 16 assists and 17 digs.
The Gaels host their Western New York counterparts this weekend when they take on Canisius Friday and Niagara Saturday at the Hynes Center.
