Box Score NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The Iona College volleyball team snapped a six-match slide with a three-set win over Saint Peter's at the Hynes Center. The Gaels took out the Peacocks 25-13, 25-23, 25-14.
Senior MB Catrina Warren hit .385 with 11 kills while adding four blocks and four digs. Senior OH Taylor Cembalisty hit .500 with eight kills and 11 digs. Rookie OH Kassandra Darnaby posted seven kills. Senior MB Shannon Ward had five kills on seven attempts with no errors while posting three blocks. Red shirt freshman RS Kate Broadnax added four kills and four blocks in the win.
The Gaels hit .323 as a team for the match with senior Caris Myles and junior Natalie Ziskin splitting time at setter. Ziskin led with 19 assists and eight digs while Myles posted 15 assists and four digs in the win.
Saint Peter's junior OH Lauren Behrens led her team with nine kills. Senior OH Dayana Arrufat posted seven kills and a match-high 14 digs. Senior setter Kristina Baehr had 21 assists while freshman libero Kayla Howell posted nine digs in the loss.
The Gaels are back in action Saturday, hosting Manhattan at 3:00 pm.
