LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ - The Iona College volleyball team dropped a five-set decision at Rider in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at Alumni Gym. Senior libero Katie Marabella tied a single-match school record with 43 digs in the loss.

Three of the first four sets were decided by two points with the fourth by just three. The Gaels took the second and third sets 25-22 and 25-23 while dropping the first and fourth 30-28 and 27-25. Rider took the deciding set 15-11.

Marabella's 43 digs marked the fifth 40+ dig effort in school history, second since the 25-point set era and third time the number was reached. Senior OH Catrina Warren recorded her second career 20+ kill, 20+ dig effort with 20 kills and a career-high 27 digs. Her previous 20-20 effort came in the Gaels' 2013 regular season finale vs. Manhattan on Nov. 16 when she posted 25 kills and 23 digs. Warren added six blocks, six assists and three aces, for a career-best 27.5 points in the match. The point total was the second-highest in school history since the 25-point set was instituted in 2008. It was Warren's16th career 20+ point effort and 10th double-double of the season.

Senior RS Taylor Cembalisty matched her season-best with 19 kills and recorded a season-high 19 digs. It was her fifth double-double of the season. Junior setter Natalie Ziskin also posted a double-double with 40 assists and 10 digs, her second of the year.

Senior MH Shannon Ward had eight kills and three blocks while rookie Kassandra Darnaby had eight kills and 12 digs.
