Box Score NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The Iona College volleyball team fell in four sets to Siena in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at the Hynes Center. Siena opened up a 2-0 lead with 25-15 and 25-21 set wins to start the match before the Gaels stormed back in the third 25-16. The Saints held off the Maroon & Gold in the fourth set 26-24 to take the match.
Senior OH Catrina Warren and senior RS Taylor Cembalisty each had 11 kills to lead the Gaels. Warren had her eighth double-double of the year with 15 digs while adding two aces and a block. Cembalisty had nine digs with two blocks and an ace. Sophomore MB Karly White posted nine kills and a team-leading .263 hitting percentage and three blocks. Rookie OH Kassandra Darnaby had nine kills and 13 digs in the defeat.
Senior Caris Myles split time with junior Natalie Ziskin at the setter position, taking over in the second set. He posted 22 assists and eight digs with three kills. Ziskin had 19 assists. Senior libero Katie Marabella had a team-best 17 digs.
The Saints were led by 19 kills and 11 digs from junior RS Meghann Wright. Senior MB Jacqueline Skeen added 12 kills and four blocks while hitting .476. Sophomore setter Haley Howell had 42 assists and 13 digs while sophomore libero Bobbi Lin Kalama had a match best 25 digs.
The Gaels are back in action tomorrow against unbeaten Marist at the Hynes Center with first serve scheduled for 1:00 pm.
