CAMBRIDGE, MA - The Iona College men's water polo team opened its weekend slate of CWPA Northern Division action with a 10-4 loss to Harvard Saturday evening.
Senior Jake Lloyd led the Gaels with two goals in the contest, along with two steals and a kickout drawn. Senior Kyle Elmore and junior Zach Presto registered the other Iona tallies, while freshmen Marc Stauble and Zach Roper had one assist each. Junior Matt McCrudden made 10 saves in net for the Maroon & Gold.
The Crimson held a 2-1 lead after the initial eight minutes before pulling out to an 8-2 halftime cushion with six goals in the second quarter. The two teams each found the net twice in the second half.
The Gaels continues league play Sunday at 10:00 am against MIT.
