Box Score NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The Iona College volleyball team fell in three sets to first-place Marist in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at the Hynes Center. The Gaels fell in straight sets 25-19, 25-15 and 25-22.
Senior OH Catrina Warren led the Gaels with eight kills and 14 digs while recording two blocks. Sophomore middle blocked Karly White had five kills and five blocks and hit .333 for the match. Rookie OH Kassandra Darnaby posted six kills and senior RS Taylor Cembalisty added four.
Senior Caris Myles and Natalie Ziskin split time at setter. Myles had 18 assists and six digs while Ziskin added five assists in the one set she appeared in. Senior libero Katie Marabella had a team-high 19 digs.
Marist was led by Kelsey Lahey's 10 kills. Three performers had eight kills including Mackenzie Stephens who added five blocks and Courtney Shaw with 13 digs. Setter Amanda Schlegel had 33 assists while libero Brooke Zywick posted 12 digs.
The Gaels hit the road for two matches next weekend at Rider and Saint Peter's.
