QUEENS, NY - The Iona College volleyball team fell in three sets to the Big East's St. John's at Carnesecca Arena this evening. The Red Storm took the match in straight sets 25-17, 25-21, and 25-14.

Fresh off her MAAC Offensive Player of the Week honor, freshman OH Claire Archibald posted a team-high 10 kills while adding nine digs and a block. Junior MH Karly White posted nine kills and two blocks and hit a team-best .389 in the loss. Freshman libero Jessica Paolucci had 17 digs while setters Natalie Ziskin and Emma Rose combined for 20 assists.

St. John's was led by 14 kills and 12 digs from Karin Palgutova. Setter Deniz Mutlugil added 32 assists.

The Maroon & Gold are back in action at the Black Knights Invitational Saturday (Sep. 5) when they take on Army West Point and Cornell. The three-game showcase ends for Iona with William & Mary Sunday afternoon.
