NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The Iona College volleyball team dropped a four-set decision to Marist in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play at the Hynes Center. The Gaels took the third set in the defeat.

After falling 25-18 in the opener, the Maroon & Gold rallied from a 21-13 deficit in the second set to knot the score at 24-24, Marist held on for the 27-25 set win. Iona won set three 25-23 before the Red Foxes closed out the match 25-11 in the fourth.

Sophomore OH Claire Archibald recorded an 11-kill, 11-dig double-double, her team-leading fifth of the season. She added two aces for a team-best 13.0 points. Sophomore RS Taylor Bannister posted her first double-digit kill effort of the season with 10. It was the fourth of her career. Sophomore MB Mia Bonsignore had eight kills and two blocks in the loss. Sophomore setter Emma Rose led Iona with 25 assists to go along with eight digs. Sophomore libero Jessica Paolucci had 23 digs for the Gaels.

Marist was led by 11 kills apiece from OHs Kelsey Ediger and Mackenzie O'Brien. O'Brien added 10 digs to complete a double-double. Setter Taylor VanDerBiezen also had a double-double with 24 assists and 11 digs. Libero Lexi Millington posted 24 digs in the win.

Iona hosts Siena Sunday (Oct. 2) at the Hynes Center at 1:00 pm.
