POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – The Iona College volleyball program dropped a straight-set match at Marist on Sunday afternoon.  The Red Foxes took the first two sets in comforting fashion 25-15 and 25-16, and the Maroon & Gold fell just short of staying alive in set three, 26-28.

Sophomore Claire Archibald had a match-high 12 kills on 32 attempts and 12 digs.  Freshman Tess Connolly had seven kills on 26 attempts.  Sophomores Emma Rose and Kait Ferretti combined for 23 of the teams 28 assists.

Iona hit .079 for the match, making 20 attack errors.  Marist hit .283 with 42 kills and 12 attack errors.  The Red Foxes out-blocked the Gaels 8-2.

The Maroon & Gold return to MAAC action on Wednesday afternoon when the Saint Peter's Peacocks travel to New Rochelle, NY for a 7 PM serve.
