PROVIDENCE, RI – The Iona College water polo program took to the pool Sunday morning at Brown, falling to the host 9-5.
Quinn Lloyd led the Gaels (6-23, 0-9) in goals, scoring twice on four attempts.
Patrick Hudak connected once on six shots and
Jason Hill and
Philip Wachowski each scored once.
Jorge Andres Torres made 11 saves and added three steals.
Iona was outscored 2-0 in the first quarter and each team tallied two in the second. At the end of the third, the Gaels trailed by one goal, 5-4 but struggled to find consistency in the fourth quarter, conceding four and finding the back of the net only once.
The Gaels return to the pool on Sunday for their final NEWPC contest against Princeton beginning at 6:00 PM.
