Gabriella Di Domizio became Iona's all-time leader in caused turnovers on Wednesday afternoon in the Gaels' 13-8 victory over Sacred Heart. Di Domizio passed
Jaclyn O'Leary to obtain sole possession of first place on the leaderboard.

Katelyn Noschese paced the way for the Gaels, scoring four goals on all four of her attempted shots.
Pamela Giordano tallied a hat-trick on 10 shots, grabbed two ground balls and caused two turnovers.
Jenna Tolzmann was all around the field, scoring two goals, grabbing three ground balls and causing three turnovers.

Sara Stewart and
Emma Hager and
Maureen Murphy each tallied a goal in the victory.

In net,
Shannon McCaffrey came up with huge saves in the second half, finishing with nine blocks on the day.

A game after struggling to control draws against Drexel, the Gaels controlled 15 compared to the Pioneers' eight. Iona caused 12 turnovers compared to Sacred Heart's five.

Sacred Heart jumped out in front 2:14 into the game, but was answered by Giordano just over a minute later. Tolzmann then connected on an unassisted goal to give Iona the lead 2-1. After Sacred Heart connected on the next two goals,
Sara Stewart scored her second goal of the season to knot the score back at 3-3.

Iona scored the next three goals over a five-minute span with two coming from the stick of Giordano, and the last by Becker. Sandwiched in between the Giordano's goal was Di Domizio's record-breaking caused turnover. With 3:21 remaining in the half, Sacred Heart stormed back with two goals, but Murphy scored in the final 11 seconds of the half, as the Gaels took a 7-6 lead into the break.

Two minutes into the second half, Sacred Heart tied the score back at 7-7, but Tolzmann and Noschese put Iona back ahead with a lead they would not relinquish. The Pioneer's brought the Iona advantage back to one, 9-8 with 15:45, but Iona was able to close out defensively for the remainder, while tacking on four goals. Noschese scored two goals within 1:30 of each other, followed by Hager and topped off again by a strike by Noschese off of a nifty assist from Becker.
