Brown answered with two more scores in the closing 1:26 for a 7-1 edge going into the second period.

After Brown went up 8-1 with 1:42 gone in the second quarter, Wachowski pulled Iona within six 8-2 a minute later.  Rodriguez's lob goal continued the Gaels 2-0 rally to narrow the Bears lead to five 8-3 with 3:50 remaining. Bears entered half time with a 9-3 lead over the Maroon & Gold.

A Brown goal with 1:02 left gave the home squad an 12-8 lead going into the final period.

Just 31 seconds into the fourth period, Rodriguez hit his second goal, but two consecutive Brown scores, including a five-meter penalty shot goal put the Bears up five 14-9 with 5:07 left. On Iona's next possession, Hofer found the back of the net for his third goal getting the Gaels within four 14-10. With two straight Iona goals from Rodriguez and Machado, the Gaels cut the Bears edge to three 15-12 at 1:59 left. But two straight goals for Brown sealed their win in the last minute.

"Missing some key components to our offense that we early in the week, we came into this game a little shaky," Wachowski said.  "We managed to clean up some of our mistakes in the first quarter and were competitive after that."
"Had we adjusted better and came out stronger, we could have been more competitive in the final score," Lloyd agreed. "We will look to correct those tactical errors going forward.   And look to fill in the pieces for a new strategy to win the Judge Cup."
