MATCH SUMMARY
Iona's offensive onslaught started early, beginning with Kedarjah Lewis in the tenth minute of action at Drass Field. Sam Hogan assisted Lewis on the first goal of the night to give the Gaels an early 1-0 advantage. 13 minutes later after Lewis had her initial try on goal stopped, Hogan buried a try that Lewis was credited with the assist on.
A litany of subs provided Iona with some fresh legs and led to another score. Kate McNally scored a beauty of a goal, blasting a ball out of the air off a corner to give the Maroon & Gold a 3-0 lead in the 30th minute. Albert notched the first goal of her career off a corner in the closing moments of the half, converting off a feed from Emily Drake.
Coming out of the break with a four-goal advantage in the scoring column, the Gaels continued to put the pressure on. Dellocono followed Albert's lead and tallied the first score of her collegiate career to make it a 5-0 contest in the 59th minute.
