LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ - The Iona University volleyball team dropped a three-set decision to Rider in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play at Alumni Gymnasium. Sophomore Mackenzie Wiggins led the Gaels with 15 kills in the 25-23, 25-22, 25-15 defeat on the road.

IONA PERFORMERS

• Wiggins' 16 points led all scorers as she added two blocks to her kill total.
• Senior libero Hope Matschner posted 21 digs and four assists.
• Senior setter Tamara Pichardo had 18 assists.
• Seniors Morgan Madasz and Nerin Valasakos had five kills apiece while classmate Jen Soto added four kills and four blocks.

THE OPPONENT

• Jenna Amaro led the Broncs with 10 kills.
• Molly Strah and Keegan O'Connor and 16 and 15 digs, respectively.
• Riley Frye posted an 11-assist, 11-dig double double.

UP NEXT

Iona takes on its travel partner Manhattan on Saturday at home in its lone match of the week.
