NEW ROCHELLE, NY – Iona University Director of Athletics Matt Glovaski announced the annual
12 Days to Fight the Good Fight campaign, an initiative aimed at generating philanthropic support for Iona's teams, will return for a fourth year in 2023. Over its first three years, the campaign has grown into the largest annual single fundraising event for Iona Athletics, generating nearly $700,000 in support.
This December 1 - 12, Gael Nation is encouraged to again rally around Iona student-athletes to drive support that is critical for the advancement and sustainability of the Maroon & Gold.
"I'd like to extend my sincere appreciation to all those who participated during the first three years of the
12 Days initiative," said Glovaski. "This campaign has become an essential part of our fundraising efforts and plays a critical role in the experience we are able to provide our Iona student-athletes. I ask all of Gael Nation to again join us in the
12 Days and support our continued efforts to build champions in the classroom, in competition, in the community, and in life!"
As a special point of emphasis this year, Iona Athletics is encouraging supporters to help elevate the
12 Days by committing to matching or challenge gifts. Any supporter interested in participating at this level should reach out to the External Affairs office at the contact information below.
Like its first three installments, each of Iona's teams will have a day of special recognition during the campaign, with individual programs highlighted on Iona's social media platforms. Supporters of specific programs are encouraged to make their gift on the day their team is recognized. A calendar of when each team will be highlighted during the 12 Days is below.
As part of the initiative, Iona's teams will again compete against each other, with the highest two fundraising programs, and the program receiving the most gifts, earning bonus allocations of Adidas team gear. Last year, Iona Baseball took the top spot.
Many companies have matching gift programs that can help double or even triple one's gift to Iona. If you or your spouse works for such a company, please obtain the required form from the personnel office, and return it with your gift. Gifts made to Iona Athletics as part of the
12 Days initiative are tax deductible as prescribed by state and federal law.
To make a gift, visit the
Iona Athletics Giving Page, call 914-633-2598, or email
