BALTIMORE, MD - The Iona University women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to UMBC in non-conference action Thursday night at Retriever Soccer Park. The home team scored twice in the second half to earn the win over the Gaels.
After outshooting Iona 11-3 in the first half, the Retrievers got on the board on its 14th attempt in the 59th minute on Natasha Munro's second goal of the season. UMBC added an insurance goal late with Cheyenne Payne's tally with just over five minutes remaining.

Payton Foster recorded two of Iona's four shot attempts in the game. Rookie goalkeeper
Savannah Rogers made 11 saves and allowed the first goal before being relieved in the 65th minute by junior
Caroline Scott.
The Gaels complete their non-conference slate next Wednesday (September 27) on the road at Penn.
