ORANGE, CA - Iona women's water polo lost another two close games on day two of the Convergence Tournament, in the first game of the day for the Gaels they fell to Sanat Clara 11-10. In the afternoon game the Maroon & Gold fell to Cal State Fullerton for their second 11-10 OT loss of the weekend.Â
GAME SUMMARY
In the early morning game the offense was led by
Lola Trujillo and
Sadie Sallas with three goals each.
Kaya Hart &
Mia Tovar scored two goals each.
Kaitlyn Williams and
Amelia Gonzalez combined for four of the five assists.
Lola Trujillo went two-for-two on swim-offs, her first game with more than one swim-off loss.
Lilly Morris played all 32 minutes in net for the Maroon & Gold, she made 4 saves on 25 shots faced. Iona was kicked-out seven times and only drew four Santa Clara kickouts.Â
In the Gaels final game of the Convergence Tournament Iona saw their second game of the weekend head to OT. The offense was led by Trujillo again for her second hat trick of the day. Bella Morquecho and Maleah Penman found the back of the net twice. Tovar, Isabella Adams, and Addison Collins notched one goal each. The team drew seven exclusions while being kicked-out 11 times. Â Â
Lilly Morris started and played all 38 minutes for the second game of the day. She made ten saves on 35 shots faced. The team recorded six steals with Trujillo leading the way with two. Trujillo also added five more swim-off wins.Â

Iona will finish their west coast trip with a single game tomorrow against CSUN, game is scheduled for 2 pm ET.Â
