NEW ROCHELLE, NY – The Iona University men's rowing team fielded three boats at the 2024 Novak Memorial Metropolitan Championships in the program's spring home event. The regatta featured nine schools from the Metropolitan Area and New England. The Gaels' varsity eight boat was the top performer and finished first overall in the race.
MEN'S VARSITY 8
The Gaels V8 boat took first place in the five-team race field, posting a time of 6:59.1. Iona topped Army by more than 10 seconds. Fairfield, Fordham, and Stony Brook rounded out the finishers. The Gaels' boat consisted of freshman coxswain

MEN'S VARSITY 4
The Maroon & Gold earned third place in the grand final of the V4 race. Iona advanced to the afternoon finale with a third place finish in the opening heat in a time of 8:10.82. It improved its time in the final race, posting an 8:02.49. In both races Army and UConn finished ahead of the Gaels. The team finished ahead of Army and UConn's second boats and Manhattan. Iona's V4 boat featured senior coxswain

MEN'S NOVICE 4
Iona's novice four boat finished fourth, posting a 10:21.92. The US Merchant Marine Academy and two Army boats finished ahead of the Gaels who topped Stony Brook. Senior
