Julia Leonardo was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Player and Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon. This marks her first Player of the Week honor and third Rookie of the Week recognition.
The Attleboro, MA native led the Maroon and Gold offense with 52 kills across two matches this weekend. Over 10 sets, Leonardo averaged 5.2 kills per set and recorded a career-high 30 kills in Saturday's home matchup against Saint Peter's. Her 30 kills set a MAAC season high for kills in a single match.
Leonardo leads the team in kills (279), kills per set (3.4), points per set (3.86), and a leader in attack percentage (.230). She currently ranks in the top five in the MAAC in kills, kills per set, points, and points per set.
