THOMAS, USVI – Trailing by 19 points with 10:45 remaining and facing a 99.3% loss probability according to ESPN.com, the Iona University men's basketball team stormed back for a dramatic 91-84 double-overtime win over Oregon State in its second contest at the 2025 Paradise Jam at the University of the Virgin Islands Sports and Fitness Center. THE RUNDOWN
Anthony gave Iona a lead at 15-14 with 12:28 left in the opening half, but Oregon State answered immediately and did not trail again until Harris buried a wing three with 1:39 left in double overtime. The game remained within two possessions for the rest of the first half as the Beavers carried a 34-30 lead into the break.

Oregon State opened the second half on an 11-1 run to build a 45-31 advantage with 16:22 to play. Iona responded with six straight on back-to-back threes by graduate
Keshawn Williams and Harris. After an exchange of baskets, the Beavers put up 11 unanswered points over a 2:20 stretch to take a 58-39 lead with 10:45 left. Iona countered with a 13-0 run to pull within five, and the comeback was completed on Jungers' game-tying triple to make it 70-70.

The Gaels trailed throughout the first overtime and fell behind by four with 1:14 remaining, but Anthony's free throws forced a second extra period.

Down three early in double overtime, Anglin's floater trimmed it to 84-83 at the 2:16 mark, sparking a stretch in which Iona scored the final 10 points of the game. A defensive stop set up Harris' go-ahead three after teammate
Lamin Sabally nearly lost the ball on the wing. Anthony, Harris, and Anglin hit key free throws in the closing seconds to seal the victory.
IONA PERFORMERS
- CJ Anthony delivered a commanding performance, scoring 16 of his 22 points across the second half and overtime while going 10-for-11 from the line, including a perfect 9-for-9 over the final 30 minutes. He added five rebounds, four assists, and contributed on both ends with a steal and a block.
- Denver Anglin provided timely scoring throughout the night, finishing with 16 points on 6-for-12 shooting, including 10 in the opening half, while adding two rebounds and two assists in a composed backcourt showing.
- Toby Harris served as Iona's long-range weapon, hitting all five of his field goals from beyond the arc to reach 16 points, while chipping in four rebounds and a steal-including the go-ahead three in the second overtime.
- Lamin Sabally turned in an all-around standout effort with 12 points, eight boards, five assists, five steals, and a block. Despite picking up three early fouls, he played every minute of the second half and both overtimes and was a key stabilizer in Iona's rally.
- Luke Jungers provided one of the game's signature moments with his season-high 11 points, hitting 3-of-5 from deep including the dramatic corner three that forced overtime, and adding two key free throws.
- Keshawn Williams contributed across the board with six points, three rebounds, an assist and a steal, including a crucial second-half three that helped spark Iona's momentum swing.
- Alliou Fall battled tirelessly on the interior across a career-high 30 minutes, producing six points, seven rebounds, and three blocks while matching up against an Oregon State front line featuring three players 6-11 or taller.
THE OPPONENT
- Noah Amenhauser paced Oregon State with an efficient 20-point, 10-rebound double-double on 8-for-11 shooting, though Iona held him to just three free throws over the final 10 minutes as the momentum shifted.
- Isaiah Sy added 18 points while contributing five rebounds and three assists, serving as a steady perimeter threat for much of the night.
- Johan Munch filled the stat sheet with 12 points, eight rebounds, and five assists, providing reliable two-way play until the Gaels' late defensive pressure began to wear down the Beaver offense.
TEAM STATISTICS
- Oregon State edged Iona in overall field goal percentage, 43.1% to 38.5%. In overtime, the Gaels shot 5-for-12 from the field and 9-for-10 at the line, while the Beavers went 3-for-12 and 7-for-12, respectively.
- Iona won the rebounding battle 49-43, including 16-12 on the offensive glass, and held an 11-8 edge in second-chance points.
- Oregon State recorded 20 assists with 15 turnovers; Iona posted 12 assists and 13 turnovers, holding a 14-12 advantage in points off giveaways.
- The Gaels hit 13 three-pointers-their third game with at least 10 under head coach Dan Geriot.
- Iona shot 18-for-22 (81.1%) from the free throw line; Oregon State went 21-for-36 (58.3%).
