LAWNERNCEVILLE, NJ - The Gaels traveled to Rider for a mid week game in a non-conference match-up. Opening draw started at four pm with the Gaels falling to the Broncs 14-7. Senior
Alyssa Castellano scored a hat trick in the loss, her first goals since the 2023 season. It was her first career hat trick and sets a new career high.

Jocelyn Smith all scored a goal each. Scarduzio had team high four points, adding three assist to her lone goal. Gaels got out scored on the draw controls for the third straight game, Grassi and sophomore
Calen Norton hd two each for the Maroon & Gold.
Lauren Sweeney made five saves allowing 14 goals on 26 shots faced. The junior net minder set a game high with four ground balls no one else on either side hade more than two. Iona caused seven rider turnovers, Grassi led the team with two.
Iona's offense put up its best first quarter with three goals, but the Broncs scored seven. A low scoring second quarter had the Gaels in a five goal deficit entering the half time break. Iona outscored Rider in the third in another low scoring quarter. Early in the fourth Iona got it within three, Rider would close out the game with a four goal run as the Gaels fell 14-7.
Iona's next game is on the island of Long Island at LIU on Saturday, March 1. Opening draw is scheduled for an 11 am start.
