LEXINGTON, KY - The Iona University volleyball team earned the 2025 AVCA Team Academic Award sponsored by INTENT as announced by the organization's office on Monday afternoon.

The Maroon & Gold are one of 1,450 collegiate and high school volleyball programs maintained a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale to earn the award for their classroom excellence during the recently completed academic year.

The Gaels' volleyball program garnered the distinction for third consecutive year and for the 10th time overall. During the Spring 2025 semester, volleyball student-athletes posted a 3.59 GPA, ranking in the top third of the department. In Fall 2024, the team produced a 3.56 GPA, also ranking in the top third of the department.
